Frequently Asked Questions

  • Daily camp commuters will need to be dropped off and picked up by the circular driveway located next to the new Knight Center for Music Innovation. 

    Drop off time: 8:30am - 8:55am.
    Pick up time: 3:30pm (June Session), 5:00pm (July Sessions)

  • Participants are expected to bring thier own instrument, provided music, and accessories that are pertinent to their performance at camp. Some programs will require specific materials that include:


    Music Production:
    - Laptop, tablet, and/or portable recording devices


    Jazz Instrumental:
    - Drumset Players must provide your own sticks, mallets, and cymbals.

    - Bass Players: You must provide your own Acoustic Bass and/or Electric Bass with amp.

    - Guitar Players: You must provide your own patch cables, instrument, amp, and accessories. 


    NOTE: Please reach out to Dr. Bergeron to make arrangements where needed. We will do our best to work with you where we are able. 

    The following instrument/equipment will be provided at the Frost School of Music:

    - Drum Set w/out Cymbals

    - Piano/Keyboard

    - Percussion Instruments: Concert Snare, Bass Drum, Mallet Instruments (Wind Ensemble Member)

    - We have a limited amount of guitar and bass amps for use. We HIGHLY recommend local participants to provide their own for camp.

  • Yes! Tuition includes the cost of lunch for all day campers and commuting campers. Participants staying in the dormitory in July will have breakfast, lunch, and dinner included in their housing fees. 

    All meals will be provided through the University of Miami Dining Hall. You can review the menu and nutritional infomration through the University of Miami Dining at:

  • The University of Miami Dining does not offer Kosher meals. Please reach out via email for additionalional assistance: frostsummerprograms@miami.edu 

  • Campers, Staff, and guests will be able to park at the University of Miami Pavia Parking Garage. The Pavia Garage is located at the main entrance of the University of Miami. Address: 5600 Pavia Street, Coral Gables, FL 33126

  • On campus summer housing will be available for non-local program participants.
     

    July Session 1: 7/6 -7/10

    Housing Check in day: Sunday, July 5, 2026 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm.
    Housing Check out day: Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11:00am. 

    July Session 2: 7/13 - 7/17

    Housing Check in day: Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm.

    Housing Check out day: Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 11:00am. 

    Attending both weeks in July (Instrumental Intensive and Popular Music): 7/6 - 7/17

    Housing Check in day: Sunday, July 5, 2026 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm.

    Housing Check out day: Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 11:00am. 

    Cost for Program Housing (Single Week Sessio) - 6 nights: TBA

    Cost for Program Housing (Two Week Session) - 13 nights: TBA

    Note: Housing is on a first come, first served basis! Space is very limited...early registration and prompt payment is highly encouraged. More information will be posted on the website once the University Housing Office finalizes all logistics for the new summer sessions.

  • Summer Housing Fee includes the following:

    - Accommodations for 6 nights (1-week session) or 13 nights (2-week session).

    - Dorm Linen Package: Twin XL bedsheets, comforter, bath towel, and washcloth. 

    - All camp meals are included in the campus dining hall: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner. 
     

    Please note that dorm rooms do not include a microwave and/or mini fridge for use. 

  • The Frost Summer Experience will not be providing transportation from the airport to camp. Participants who are traveling to the University of Miami will need to make their own arrangements to and from the campus dormitory on thier designated check in and check out dates.

  • YES! Final performances will take place on the last instructional day of each respective camp session. Performances will be free to the public and will also be streamed live on the Frost School of Music Live YouTube broadcast. Additional information will be provided by the respective program directors for your camper's strand. 

  • The Frost Summer Experience reviews all applications submitted by the posted priority deadline for scholarship consideration. The total amount of scholarships awarded depends on available funds. Selection is based on 1) audition quality and 2) instrumentation needs. If you have questions about the criteria, please contact us at frostsummerprograms@miami.edu

  • YES! New for the 2026 application cycle - applicants can now 1) pay the full tuition amount or 2) choose from available payment plans. If you select a payment plan, your installments will be automatically withdrawn on the scheduled payment dates listed at registration.
